School counselors collaborate with many stakeholders to maximize student growth and learning. When school counselors and principals work together, the positive impact of the school counseling program is most effective.
Therefore, the Kansas School Counselor Association (KSCA) is pleased to announce the selection of three outstanding Kansas school administrators to be recognized with the KSCA Principal Advocate Award.
This state award is designed to bring attention to the important role of school principals in providing services and resources to Kansas students and families through school counseling programs.
In honor of their support to the school counseling profession, each of these principals will be recognized at the 2015 KSDE Counseling Conference at Emporia State University. They represent the many school principals in Kansas devoted to making a positive difference in the lives of students and their school communities.
Nominations for the Principal Advocate Award are submitted to the Kansas School Counselor Association. The selection of recipients is based on criteria tied to the KSDE Standard of Excellence for School Counseling.
The Kansas School Counselor Association is a state professional organization and a division of the American School Counselor Association. Both organizations assist school counselors in the work they do through school counseling programs.
